As with The Gold Mine Masterclass your first challenge is to set up a calendar of regular visits to the gemba, where value is being added, and ask the teams who do the work themselves to present you with their improvement effort.
However, what we're now looking for is to establish a Wall-to-Wall lean management system, so each team that you visit will be expected to present you one kaizen effort, using one of the classic lean tools, whether 5S, Quality "5 Why?", SMED, 4M problem solving, better use of Work Standards and Standardized Work, Yamazumi and so on...
Learning the tools and how to apply them with the right motive is part of the lean journey, as well as seeing how they connect in a more systemic way.
